Narikala Fortress, Tbilisi

Narikala is an ancient fortress on a steep hill overlooking Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, and the Mtkvari River.

The fortress was established in the 4th century, This castle was built during the reign of Shah Abbas Safavi and has been restored several times. In this castle there is a church with old bells.  Most of the existing fortifications date from the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1827 it was damaged by an earthquake and was not resorted.

Narykala Fortress has a steep road and maybe one of the attractions of this place. Near the castle is a telechannel that is hosted by tourists. There is also a large park near the Narica Castle. Inside the park, the statue of the mother is a symbol of Georgia. This beautiful park has a variety of trees and aromatic plants that enchants each observer.

Many Iranians who travel to Tbilisi visit the castle to see the masterpiece of the Iranian kings.
